High Quality of Recording
Neuro-Audio/ABR is designed specifically for ABR testing and combines years of experience in design and manufacturing to provide a flexible system. Air and bone-conduction ABR is recorded by 1 or 2 channels. The system fully complies with the requirements of IEC 60645-7: 2009 (Type 1) as well as with the guidelines for ABR of the British Academy of Audiology (BAA) and the requirements of the International Evoked Response Audiometry Study Group (IERASG).
Well-considered hardware system characteristics (low level of amplifier noise) and software features (adaptive notch filter, weighted averaging, statistical measures of signal and noise, up-to-date algorithms for automatic response detection) help to obtain a high-quality record quickly. All tests can be performed when a patient is awake (even on a non-sedated baby)! Since the device is powered by USB, you can get a clear ABR waveform even if there is interference from the mains. Just switch your laptop to the battery mode!
Chirp stimulus is a new stimulus that allows obtaining the response of higher amplitude compared to the traditional ABR stimuli (click, tone-burst). Chirp stimulus takes into account the cochlear anatomy and uses the different time shift for different frequencies. Thus, the low frequencies reach the cochlea before the high frequencies. But in the cochlea itself, the high-frequency receptors are located prior to the low-frequency receptors. Due to such stimulus waveform, hair cell responses along the whole length of the cochlea (or in one octave range) occur at the same time (synchronized). This leads to the increase of combined neural response that comes to the auditory nerve, and thus the increased wave V amplitude.
Advanced post-processing of results
If it is difficult to interpret the obtained results (for example, due to electrical interference), you can filter the waveform or average several waveforms (for one ear with the same stimulus intensity) into one interference-free waveform. In addition, researchers can also export raw (unprocessed) data (each sweep after each stimulus) from the device to a text file for further processing in any external software: Excel, MATLAB, etc.
Neuro-Audio/ABR is significantly smaller than the most competing devices and it can be easily placed in any desired room. The compact size does not mean cuts in the functionality, as the result is achieved using the latest microcircuit technology.
The delivery set includes TDH-39 headphones, the most popular audiometric headphones in the world. We can optionally supply ER-3C insert earphones (to record cochlear microphonic, perform ECochG testing, and reduce the need for masking as they have better sound insulation), B-71 bone vibrator (for bone).
